In 1998, the Board of Trustees decided that a stronger emphasis should be placed on the preservation of culinary literature and also on guiding researchers to the best resources. The Library Committee’s first goal was to identify outstanding collections of culinary literature and make those collections known in a report that would be available to everyone.
The Library Report has now been through two major editions and various lesser revisions. Its goal is to guide researchers to places where they can best do their work. A further benefit is the identification of collections with rare volumes in need of restoration and preservation, the goal of the Library Fund, through The Culinary Trust’s Endangered Treasures project.
The Library report is by no means complete. We welcome suggestions for additions, including collections in any country, and we welcome your contributions to the Library Fund through the Endangered Treasures project.
Respectfully, Madge Griswold, CCP**
